The Idea: “Let’s Make Privacy Cool”
The concept started as a joke in a brainstorming session. “What if we made a music video about VPNs?” But the more we thought about it, the more it made sense. VPNs are often explained in technical, dry terms – but they’re a tool for everyday people, living dynamic, creative, and connected lives.
So we asked ourselves: What if we could tell our story in a way that actually resonated? That sparked the idea for Got Your Back – a music video that blends pop culture, humor, and a strong message about protecting your digital space.
Writing the Lyrics: From Firewalls to Flows
We didn’t want a generic ad. We wanted a song you’d actually want to listen to. That meant writing lyrics that were:
- Catchy, but meaningful
- Informative, but not preachy
- Fun, but still on-brand
Our team scoured for the young, budding local musicians and writers to craft lines that weave real cybersecurity truths into clever rhymes. And with that, we found our lyricist and rapper – Hafiy The Dude
Developing the Beat: Encrypt It and Drop the Bass
Of course, none of it would hit the same without the beat. The track was produced by Alif Aircho, a seasoned music producer known for his remixes and high-energy work across dance battles and local productions. His ability to fuse rhythm with cinematic depth gave Got Your Back its infectious bounce and polished feel. Alif understood exactly what we needed – something that gets your head nodding and your feet moving, while reinforcing the message behind the music.
The Shoot: Lights, Camera, Cybersecurity
With just a white room and some lights, Richard Prayoga designed every frame with intention. With his vast experience and expertise, the production process was smooth and exciting.
One of the highlights of the shoot was the dance break, featuring a lineup of talented dancers from our East Side Sessions dance battle event. These performers brought an electric energy to the video, combining sharp choreography with bold personality. It was a full-circle moment for us – bringing together a community we had previously connected with, now shining in a totally new context.

In a world of ads and noise, we wanted to create something that cuts through – and actually sticks. Got Your Back isn’t just a music video. It’s a statement. You don’t have to be a tech expert to understand privacy. You just need the right tools, and a team that’s truly looking out for you.
